Holy Spirit Spa Day

Every few months I offer a mini online retreat, on two alternative dates: a ‘Holy Spirit Spa’ with times of guided prayer and meditation using some long established approaches to contemplative prayer which have been practiced for millenia. These approaches help us connect to and directly experience the love of God in the here and now. Silence and space and slowness is greatly valued  - the central part of the day is an extended time for you to just ‘be’ with your loving God, giving your undivided love and attention. You may want to take a walk, spend time journaling or get creative with paint and paper. I provide a retreat guide with suggested exercises, but the time is yours.

Title: And Now We Begin (Nunc Coepi)

Theme: Our spiritual forebears understood a foundation for spiritual growth – a concept they called ‘Nunc Coepi’ – literally ‘And Now We Begin’. That when we fall or fail there is an invitation to encounter God’s mercy in the middle of the mess and begin again from that point.  The 18th century priest Fr Lanteri famously said ‘If I should fall a thousand times a day, a thousand times a day, with peace in my heart, I will rise and begin again’. So come aside for a few hours to look back over this last year and respond again to God’s invitation to begin again, and again, in those areas where you feel stuck or hopeless. Nunc Coepi. And Now We Begin.
